In 2003 Damon became the founder and owner of North Carolina Orthotics and Prosthetics, Inc. He quickly became a well-known fixture in the medical community. He helped thousands of people regain their mobility and functionality.
Everyone who knew Damon immediately references his big heart. He had a way of making people feel they were family the first time he met them. Damon is described as a gentle yet boisterous man. His amazing love for life inspired him to live each day to the fullest. He welcomed people with open arms and never wanted anyone to feel left out. He was a dreamer and determined to make things happen for everyone he knew. He is often described as “larger-than-life.” He brought smiles to everyone who knew him. He was very proud of his Pittsburgh roots and was the epitome of a “Steeler’s fan.”
Damon had many talents and golf was one of his favorites. He was a founding member of the Hasentree Country Club. History will note that Damon Johncour had the very first “hole-in-one” at Hasentree. He was a legend to everyone at the club. “You’ve been Johncoured,” a favorite saying among the golfers at Hasentree, to describe coming up from behind to win, is often heard and will continue for years to come. Damon spent many happy and fun-filled hours golfing, cooking for, and being with his golf buddies.
